Home Made Hosin Sauce

Hosin sauce is commonly used in the preparation of many Chinese foods.  The barbecued pork recipe I posted calls for Hosin Sauce for one of the ingredients.  You may purchase Hosin Sauce in one of many brands, even at most grocery stores.  But, if you prefer, you may make your own Hosin Sauce at home and keep it on hand.  It's easy to make.  Here's how!

INGREDIENTS
To make 1 cup of finished Hosin Sauce

3/4 cup Soy Sauce
6 Tablespoons Peanut Butter or Black Bean Paste
3 Tablespoons Honey or Molasses
6 Teaspoons Rice Vinegar
3 Cloves minced Garlic
6 Teaspoons Sesame Oil
3 Teaspoons Chinese Hot Sauce (available at most grocery stores in the Asian food section)
1/2 Teaspoon Black Pepper

Thoroughly mix all the ingredients together and store in an empty bottle.  Does not require refrigeration.  This way, you'll have Hosin Sauce available for recipes calling for it.  Easy to make!
